The first short story, “Mystery Box” is a glimpse into the nightly routine of a high school teenager, Candace, and her mother who is preparing for yet another date. There’s a ring at the door and surprisingly there isn’t a handsome date waiting for Candance’s mother, but a gift for Candace. A teenager who swore off the dreary idea of love now has a sparkle in her eye with just the thought that she has an admirer. Maybe Candace’s mother, Mrs. Davenport, wont’ be the only one starting a love story tonight.
The second short story, “Iced Out” follows the trail of a stressed-out couple who are about to find out why the past couple of months of their lives has led them to a hotel room. Amanda can’t believe what Bryan has been up to for months behind her back. Bryan, being the provider of the couple has left out a crucial part of being in a marriage.
The third short story, “Give and Take” is a story of self-achievement and growth. Stacy has had enough of letting people control her and which direction her life is going in. She has reached a point of self-awareness and has reflected within herself. Now she must past the ultimate test to get where she wants to be. Her path places her in the presence of betrayal or loyalty to a devoted friend and mentor, Marissa.
